Length: 2 Days (15 hours)
Description:
Most search warrant training stops at theory. This one doesn’t.
From the first spark of a case to the moment you’re standing in the doorway, this course walks you through the entire lifecycle of a search warrant—built around real narcotics investigations happening right now. No fluff, no outdated tactics—just practical methods you can actually use.
You’ll learn how to take a case from nothing to probable cause—how to spot it, build it, and most importantly, articulate it in a way that gets warrants signed. We’ll break down what works, what gets denied, and how to avoid the mistakes that kill cases before they ever get off the ground.
But getting the warrant is only half the battle.
We dive into risk assessment and operational planning so you’re not just legal—you’re prepared. You’ll learn how to evaluate threats, plan your approach, and execute warrants with officer safety and liability in mind. Because when things go sideways, it’s usually not random—it’s predictable.
From briefing to breach to debrief, every phase is covered. You’ll walk away with a clear framework for running safer, cleaner operations—and understanding why each step matters when your case ends up in court.
Originally built for narcotics investigators, the tactics in this course apply across the board—any case, any crime, anytime a warrant is on the table.
Bottom line: this is training you can use the next time you go on shift.

Cam went through the basics of warrants, but also talked about developing information into probable cause for warrants as well as situations I had never considered applying for a warrant for and why I should consider doing so. He then covered executing search warrants safely while also limiting liability. I highly recommend the class!

This was a great class. With about six years of law enforcement experience it was great to do a quick refresh of the basics of a search warrant, and then how to apply that knowledge into forming cases. Cameron gave examples of real cases he worked, and then transitioned those into the planning/executing of the search warrant. Great class overall, and highly recommend for the patrol officer/deputy all the way up.

Great class and an awesome instructor who helps you think outside of the box. I’m an Ofc with about 7 yrs of experience and found there to be a lot of new info plus some great refreshers. The class added many new tools to my toolbelt and I look forward to implementing them.
T. Donovan –
Great class opened my eyes to a lot of different ways to do business.

Cam is the Man! I have had a lot of experience executing and planning search warrants, and I learned a lot from this class. Cam went into great detail about the basics of search warrants but also more advanced ideas, and some truly awesome outside of the box ideas. On top of teaching a great class, Cam also motivated and inspired all of the officers to go out and be aggressive outside the box thinkers.
B. Hicks –
Great class. Cam knows his stuff and has plenty of case law to back up what he says. This class definitely led to a shift in how I look at and use search warrants. Highly recommend.
Lucas Ames –
Great class, I would suggest this class to any police officer. Cam is a great resource with his knowledge and has an interesting train of thought with outside the box thinking to further your investigation. Cam is engaging throughout the class and can make what I thought would be a “Death by PowerPoint” class very enjoyable and informative.
D. Chenoweth –
Great class, highly recommend it to anyone wanting to expand their knowledge on search warrants.
T. Gopher –
Great class that forces you into higher thinking regarding the concept of getting a search warrant. The whole class is interesting and engaging while still providing a lot of knowledge. Would recommend for newer or even veteran Officers.
L. Elander –
This was a great class. I really enjoyed the course and learned a lot. Cam has a great perspective on how to think outside of the box from generating a search warrant to execution. I would highly recommend this course.

I’ve been in law enforcement for over 32 years, I’ve attended many classes and I’ve commanded departments, planned and led many operations. I found this course to be absolutely one of the most beneficial classes I’ve ever taken. My years of experience were in Pennsylvania and was hoping to gain some knowledge as to what it is that Montana wants on its warrants and what it doesn’t, what we can and cannot do here in Montana and what resources we can potentially tap into, with particular focus of consideration to Montana’s enhanced citizen rights status. What I received was much more than what I was expecting and it was a pleasant surprise. This class was excellent in its content, usefulness and presentation and I personally highly recommend it to anyone in law enforcement whether you’re the greenest rookie or the most seasoned veteran officer. Cameron is obviously very well versed and experienced on these subjects and he presents it in a professional yet interesting and sometimes amusing manner.
M. O’Connell –
As someone who has been in law enforcement for several years but have never written my own warrants, I greatly appreciated this class. It is a class that should be mandatory for incoming officers. While the 2 days were dense with information, it was easy to understand because of relevant, real-world examples. I would highly recommend this course to any officer who wants more tools on their toolbelt in acquiring successful search warrants.

Between military, coal mining, and hard rock mining, I’ve had to attend hundreds of hours of training and classes. This by far has been one of the best classes I’ve taken. I’m a rookie in law enforcement so I knew I needed this class, but it was so much more than just a “search warrant” class. Cameron presents the material in a professional and entertaining way that captures your attention. I learned a lot in this class, along side several veteran cops, with several years of service, who all mentioned gaining further knowledge and better understanding on how to write and better execute warrants. I highly recommend taking this class whether a rookie or veteran officer.
Sgt. Shane Schaff –
With over 26 years of experience and having written numerous search warrants I thought that this class would be a refresher, boy was I wrong. Cam brought a whole new light and revelation into the aspect of writing search warrants. The groundwork he lays out taking reasonable suspicion and showing the steps to take that information to probable cause is nothing less than a must. If you are an administrator, or if you work in major crimes, I cannot recommend this course enough. Simply put if you don’t take this class, you are missing the boat. Cam is well versed, knowledgeable, and a great instructor.
Randy Cameron –
This is above and beyond your basic search warrant class. If it’s your first day or your 40th year, you will learn something from this class. Cam is a great instructor and makes the class fun I highly recommend it to everyone. I cannot wait for the next class.
Everett Misner, Wheatland Co. Sheriff –
I met Cameron a couple of years ago after a conversation with our Atty. Gen.’s Office and the Director from DCI. Cameron was assigned to assist my Office with the growing meth and fentanyl problem in Central Montana. Since that time, we have seized several pounds of methamphetamine, large amounts of heroin and several thousand fentanyl pills destined to be used in our great state. The methods taught by Cameron are the same used by our State Agents and those who actually enjoy great success in suppressing the drug trade. I strongly encourage any Department Head or Elected Official to send their employees to this training. There is simply no excuse to allow the deterioration of our Montana way of life because of law enforcement’s inability to intervene. This course will remove your officers’ doubts, fears and indecisiveness when putting cases together for prosecution. They will be given the tools to react appropriately when seizing illegal items and fruits of crimes committed.
We will be continuing with other courses offered by Cameron.
This course is appropriate for all skill levels. You won’t be disappointed!!

I would highly recommend this class! It’s not just “another search warrant class”. Cam keeps it interesting and it’s not hard to stay interested throughout the class!
J Niehoff –
This was a great class with a lot of useful tips and information. I will definitely be recommending this class to others.
Wyatt Uphaus –
Great class awesome instructor. I’ve been to a couple of Cam’s classes now and have learned so much. 10/10 would and will recommend to any law enforcement agency
Chad Sondersen –
The class really opened my mind on different avenues to take when it comes to search warrants. We also covered some interesting topics that tie into it all. Would recommend.
Nate –
Cam did a great job of explaining the material. He brought an out-of-the-box thought process that would allow officers to obtain different types of search warrants with a little work. It was a boring “search warrant” class, he brought real examples of situations that happen at every agency and showed his process of obtaining a variety of search warrants.
