Drug Endangered Children Investigations

Description:
This 2 day course is designed to teach students the most updated investigation techniques related to investigating drug crimes against children. Students will observe case studies, proper evidence collection methods and procedures, drug endangered children protocol, the negative impact on the community of drug crimes against children, and the importance of parallel investigations with Child and Family Services.
Students completing this course will have a better understanding of how to develop and investigate these crimes against children from case initiation through prosecution. Officers will be instructed on best practices when investigating cases involving child victims and will develop additional tools on how to adjust their investigations when children are known to be present and active victims in these cases. This course was developed for a broad range of students ranging from your first year on the job to your last 12 months before retirement.
